Forest Edge

A recent addition to our list of wineries visited, the Forest Edge Winery is located about a mile west of the Jim Beam American Stillhouse experience on Clermont Road.  It is about a mile east of Interstate 65 from exit 112.  While many wineries are a bit off the beaten path, this place is on the main road (KY-245).  In fact, if you were looking for a nice "two-for-one" visiting Jim Beam and Forest Edge would be an excellent choice.  The place is very nice and so are the people who run it.  If you want to talk wine, the folks are very knowledgeable and don't mind sharing their expertise with visitors.  All of their wines are very good and at a price point you'd expect for a Small Farm Winery.  As of our last visit in January 2014 you could taste up to four wines for no charge and a nominal charge for anything over that.  All of their wines are very good but we are particularly fond of their "Rendezvous" white wine and their Cherry Pomegranate (which I have been advised is their best seller - taste it and you'll see why).  Of course, if you are a mead fan, you've got to try their "Honey Bear" mead.  It has a wonderful flavor and is a perfect before or after dinner drink.

You can check them out further by visiting their website by clicking here.

Bottom line is that this is a nice place to visit.
